Registration Open for 2017 Wedding & Portrait Photography Conference + Expo (WPPI) in Las Vegas

NEW YORK, Nov. 7, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Registration for the 2017 Wedding & Portrait Photographers International (WPPI) Conference and Expo (February 5-9, 2017) is open and the show is moving North to the Las Vegas Convention Center. Early bird registration offering steep discounts on all education and seminar packages including Photo Walks, Plus and Master Classes, Full Platform Classes, and several filmmaking classes including a 4-day intensive filmmaking course are available through November 8. Attendees are encouraged to "Join the Movement," a tagline that is apropos for a conference and Expo that continues to move upward, and into its new home.  Attendees can review early bird discounts on all conference classes, Expo, and networking activities here.  Additional discounts are available to all PHOTO+ members.

Due to the continued growth of WPPI, the Conference and Expo will be held at the Las Vegas Convention Center for 2017. The move will provide additional space for the Expo and create additional events and services with an atmosphere conducive to WPPI's core objectives – embracing its community and expanding networking and educational opportunities

The additional space at LVCC will allow a greater celebration of WPPI's world renowned largest live print competition this year by building the Honors of Excellence gallery in the center of the Tradeshow floor. This placement will give it the presence it deserves showcasing the best of the best from 65 countries. WPPI will also have the Community Photo Lounge to collaborate with renowned photographers, educators, and friends; install a new Show Floor Theater with free product demos daily; Create WPPI Shooting Stations where attendees can practice what they learned during the conference, right on the show floor, and much more.

WPPI is the largest education conference in the world for wedding and portrait photographers and filmmakers, and offers the most comprehensive and affordable learning experience in or out of a formal classroom environment. Drawing attendees from all over the world, WPPI will feature more than 200 classes taught by world-class photographers and instructors covering numerous subjects, topics, and techniques, including business, portraiture, lighting, posing, printing, and sales. Due to overwhelming interest in its series of Photo Walks, attendees will again have an opportunity to venture out with world-class pros and learn by doing. In addition, a new Professional School & Sports Photography Program (PSPI) focusing on this growing segment of the market has been added.

Many attendees come to WPPI to attend classes, see what's new in products and accessories, and for the networking opportunities. Most of these folks maximize limited budgets by registering for a Full Platform Pass, which includes five days of education, access to over 80 Platform classes, a three-day pass to the Expo, plus admission to The University for School and Sports Photography, the keynote, special events and more. Those interested in further enhancing the learning experience can add Photo Walks, Plus or Master Classes, which can be purchased separately and are described in greater detail below.

PLATFORM CLASS (PC)
A Platform Class is a 1 1/2-hour, theatre-style session that prepares you for everything from becoming a better photographer to running a more successful and profitable business, and beyond. The Platform classes fall into seven learning tracks including Lighting, Wedding, Portrait, Inspirational, Business, Workflow and Filmmaking. Your Full Platform Pass gives you access to over 80 Platform classes.

PLUS CLASS (PLUS)
A PLUS Class is a one-day, intimate and intensive learning experience. Limited to 25 participants per class, you'll experience classroom learning through a 2-3 hour presentation by one of our world-class photography instructors followed by hands-on training through an afternoon of shooting on location. Plus Class tracks will include off camera lighting, posing techniques, workflow and more. TIP: Register early, Plus Classes will sell out quickly. Plus Classes may be purchased as an add-on item.

MASTER CLASS (MC)
A Master Class is a focused two-hour, hands-on session limited to 50 participants that provides a detailed learning experience. Master Class tracks cover a wide variety of vital photography and filmmaking topics including Lighting, Wedding, Portrait, Inspirational, Business, Workflow and Filmmaking. TIP: Register early, Master Classes sell out quickly. Master Classes may be purchased as an add-on item.

PHOTO WALKS (PW)
Photo Walks are exclusive 1 1/2 -hour, hands-on shootouts limited to 25 people each that focus on teaching the participants to sharpen their observation and composition skills while shooting alongside an industry leading photographer and educator. Each Photo Walk will demonstrate the leader's unique skill set, including everything from off camera lighting, posing, gear and lens selection and much, much more. Photo Walks may be purchased as an add-on item.

INTENSIVE FILMMAKING CLASS
Learn by doing in our fourth-annual, hands-on Filmmaking class. Be part of the crew that writes, shoots and edits the official WPPI film. Over the course of several days, you'll work on a team to capture, direct and produce the essence of WPPI. Don't wait to register, spots will fill up fast.

PSPI - The University for School and Sports Photography (UNIV)
Organized by PSPI (Professional School & Sports Photographers International), the University for School and Sports Photography is a one-day educational program geared for those who are interested in volume school and sports photography. Attendees will learn best business practices, how to grow your business, as well as important school laws and regulations on student data privacy. Other topics such as creating team composites, senior banners and the best products to offer will round out a full day of education, and networking. Keeping in tradition with WPPI, it will be fun, and offer many opportunities for great giveaways from vendors exhibiting at the mini tradeshow which runs all day. Special Events

Launch Pad
February 6 (8:30 p.m.10:00 p.m.)
Launch Pad is a great opportunity for attendees to get a firsthand look at all the new products and accessories exhibitors will have on display during the Expo, before the Expo officially opens. The event is especially beneficial to attendees whose schedule is filled with Photo Walks and classes throughout the day and may not have sufficient time to visit all the companies participating in the Expo. 

Live Print, Album, and Filmmaking Competition Judging
With the additional space now available at LVCC, the annual Print, Album, and Filmmaking competition will now be billed as the largest live photography competition and judging event in the world. Attendees will be able to listen-in as judges critique entries and compare their own critiques with those of the judges. This is a tremendous learning experience for those looking for an upper hand with future competitions or to simply understand the components that go into a great photograph.
